To tell the truth, NGP had been a disappointment for me in the past two years or so, they just never got the screen lift or tightness right. So much so I figured I kept getting defects, or the phone wasn't designed for such a case.Boy has it changed for 2018 phones!Firstly let's address the first major improvement; Screen raise. I want a slim case to offer just enough thickness to provide added bevel for laying the phone face down. I am using the Poetic Full-Cover glass protection, so it does reduce the overall amount of lip provided but without one the flat glass on the Moto E5 Play allows the NGP plenty of uninterrupted protection. It is MUCH better than the 2017 NGP I tried on my Samsung J3 which barely covered its lip curvature.As for the camera and fingerprint/logo cutout, it does its job keeping the protruded camera and the plastic lenses off the table. Because I'm using the unlocked version and not the Verizon variant, the additional cutout space doesn't quite line up but that's entirely Lenovos fault. All your ports and microphones allow unfettered access and line up exactly as they should without affecting the fit.The case has two different textures which give it a hybrid look, the shinier TPU which is sticky, while the frosted quarter-accent is seamlessly transitioned though with nowhere as much grip. I went with the smoke version to avoid the usual yellowing risk, though you can't promise no discoloration for any colored TPU either. It's a nice looking case and one would have to assume both NGP and NGP Pure are going to be one product from now on. The buttons feel nice and aren't hard to press, but not so much to cause accidental presses.Now the fit, is boss as stated above. The fit is so good I can't get the sides to give whatsoever, seriously competing with every other slim fit case for the E5 Play. Having such improved fit (and without the sides buckling) will keep trash from creeping in and making it look nasty over time. Do keep a cloth handy because this one is a fingerprint magnet.Overall a solid 5/5.
