I am a former bass player who is teaching myself jazz guitar at 40. I’ve worked my way through some other great books in the last year but my lines never sounded that much like jazz. This book shows you the chromatic tricks that make your lines sound like real bebop. This helped me analyze Charlie Parker lines and finally figure out why all his “wrong notes” work so well. This book highly focuses on the 7th chord, and is only concerned with the bebop sound (jazz has changed a lot since the late 40s), but this hits it out of the park to show you how to add a bebop sound to what you are already playing.
