This is an adorable origami kit! What a great find. I bought it as a gift for my 9 year old daughter, who loves to fold. When she saw the beautiful box, she immediately opened it and went to work. She thought the playhouse itself is super cool, how it can pop up and also fold completely flat. You can tell that it was thoughtfully constructed. The origami paper that comes with the kit is good quality, easy to work with, and most of all - beautifully designed! Each square of paper that we used is so special and gorgeous. As for the furniture, some are easier to fold than others, but when my daughter completed a few pieces, like the bed, the pillows, the arm chair, the sofa and the dining table, she was hooked! She wanted to keep folding and learning. She also loves arranging the furniture pieces in the rooms, and then rearranging them too. After some practice folding, she was even inspired to create her own unique pieces of paper furniture to put in the playhouse. This origami kit is beautiful thing, and tons of fun (for both Mom and child)! Highly recommend!!!Our grandniece's face lit up when she saw what we'd brought her for Christmas. She dove right in, creating her playhouse, and stayed with it for hours! She LOVES it! Her mother told me how pleased the little girl was. I loved watching her "build" it; what a treat!Too difficult for a 7-year-old to do on their own.The playhouse is super cute. But has anyone successfully made the refrigerator? I just can't figure it out!Very unclear instructions. Looked all over the internet for the “bisect” fold to get better instructions and could not find anything. Unable to complete any pieces so very frustrating experience.When I was young I saw a display of origami. Now, many years later, I only remember two things from the exhibition—an origami peacock and a set of origami furniture in a box. I loved the dollhouse idea so much—as soon as I got home I got to work trying to create my own.Now, many years later, my fascination with origami furniture and dollhouse scenes has not waned and I still enjoy making and arranging the furniture, choosing papers, and being an origami “interior designer.”Origami Playhouse makes it so easy for paperfolders of any age to create their own “dream house.” The duo paper patterns are charming, the furniture designs are clever (and clearly diagrammed) and the set comes with a wonderful “fold-out” 2-room house for you to start filling with the furniture and room décor that you make.The best word to describe the Origami Playhouse kit is—delightful!This is a great gift for crafty girls. After completing the playhouse kit my 10-year- old was inspired to create her own origami house out of recycled cardboard. Directions for folding are a little complicated - - I would not recommend for under 10, but 10 to adult will have a ball! Amazon lists this product under "Chronicle Books" but the creator is illustrator Huy Voun Lee whose Chinese-themed picture books we have also enjoyed.The new book, Origami Playhouse is a jewel! Huy Von Lee has done a marvelous job designing sharp, smart origami items for a special playhouse. Parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles should be sure to have a copy of this book on hand for creative summer folding when the little ones visit.However, adults will be even more enticed to create a fun place to dream & make plans, in miniature!
