As a child psychologist, we are bombarded with books and workshops on how to build resilience in children. These typically focus on relationships and emotions. Mr. Green, an obviously progressive educator, has suggested that resilience can be developed/strengthened in children with or without a trauma history by helping them learn to manage physical risks beginning at a young age and also how to recover from minor boo boos. This is a novel approach that I had not heard before. In this book he explains his ideas in a clear, cogent, and engaging way that is a great read for all parents and professionals who work with preschool children. I highly recommend.
